Benson Highlights Momentum and Her Promise to Lower Costs and Raise Wages Alongside Lawmakers

Today during the Mackinac Policy Conference, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson stood with state lawmakers to highlight her campaign's momentum and her agenda to lower costs and raise wages as governor.

“Right now all across our state, families are struggling to put food on the table, pay their bills, even just to keep the lights and heat on. This moment requires bold leaders in Lansing who will bring transformational change to drive down costs and build real wealth in communities across our state,” said Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson. “What you see before you is a team united to get things done for Michigan. And this is just a fraction of the growing coalition we have built since January 2025 when we launched this campaign. We will work every day to drive down costs, grow our economy, and protect our communities – in schools, at the ballot box, and everywhere in between.”

"I’m proud to have a fighter and a problem solver like Jocelyn at the top of the ticket," said Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids). "In a year when the state Senate is up on the ballot and our slim majority is on the line, there’s no one we’d rather have more in the battle with us. She’s fighting to lower costs, expand opportunity, make housing and childcare more affordable, and make Michigan a place where hard work actually helps you get ahead."

“There’s a clear choice in this election: between Jocelyn, who will fight for you and your interests, and the Republicans, who will fight for Trump and his extreme agenda,” said House Minority Leader Ranjeev Puri. “Jocelyn is earning the support of people across this state because she’s grounded in our values, focused on the people, and clear about who we are and what we owe one another. That’s what’s driving her campaign forward, and that’s why people trust her to lead and make progress for our state.”
