Jocelyn Benson Statement on Donald Trump’s Lies in Michigan

In response to Donald Trump once again lying about the outcome of the 2020 election, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson released the following statement:

“Michiganders know the truth: the biggest risk to our state, our economic prosperity, and our democracy is Donald J. Trump and his ‘yes’ man John James. From the John James Tax - reckless tariffs costing us more than any other state - to a war in Iran driving up gas prices, Michigan families know we can’t afford politicians who are just in it for themselves running this state or our economy.

“That’s why we’re already on track to see another record turnout election. And no amount of lies, threats, or election denialism will change that.

“Trump and James tried to overturn an election they both lost in 2020, but Michiganders stood up for the truth and democracy prevailed. That’s why we know, no matter how many baseless conspiracies Trump and James try to spread, Michigan citizens will have the final say on November 3rd.”
