NEW MI GOV POLL: Jocelyn Benson Leads Race For Michigan Governor
Benson up 3 points in three-way race; Enthusiasm rising across Michigan
New polling conducted by Impact Research shows Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson leading the race for governor and gaining strength as voters learn more about her story and see her record of saving Michiganders time and money.
Jocelyn leads the field with 39% of the vote, ahead of John James’ 36%, and Mike Duggan’s 20%, with just 5% undecided. Benson is also building a wide-ranging coalition, leading the rest of the field among Black voters, voters under 55, voters with and without college degrees.
Key Findings:
Benson leads in the governor’s race by 3 points, winning 39% of voters. John James and Mike Duggan continue to trail Benson with 36% and 20% respectively, and 5% undecided.
Benson is in a strong position with key groups she will need to win. Benson leads among Black voters by 38 points (62% Benson / 24% Duggan / 7% James), among voters under 55 by 9 points, and among college graduates and those without college degrees. Notably, Mike Duggan does not hold a lead among any demographic subgroup.
