Jocelyn Benson Stumps for Battleground State Legislature Candidates in Metro Detroit for “Road to Trifecta” Tour

On Day Three of her “Road to Trifecta” tour, gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson attended events across Metro Detroit with Sarah Pounds, Lisa McIntyre, and Alex Hawkins – battleground candidates for Michigan’s Legislature.

The tour is taking Jocelyn across Michigan, to campaign alongside candidates in battleground state legislative districts ahead of the August primary and build a governing trifecta that can deliver for Michigan families starting on Day One. Michigan needs a governor who can hit the ground running to lower costs, raise wages, and protect Michiganders — and Jocelyn is the only candidate in this race with a plan to get it done.

“I can't lead this state, transform our education system, create more well-paying jobs, or drive down costs without a trifecta of leaders in the state House and in the state Senate who are committed to those same values, and committed to delivering those same results,” said Secretary Benson during the event in Orion Township. “That's why electing Sarah Pounds to be our State Representative is so critical. We can do a transformational thing in this state, creating real change for our kids, for our seniors, for residents all across Michigan, and all it takes is us working together.”

Jocelyn started the day in Orion Township, joining a canvass launch for Sarah Pounds, a candidate for Michigan’s 54th House District.

Later that day, Jocelyn joined small business owners and Lisa McIntyre, a candidate for Michigan’s 22nd House District, for a roundtable in Northville. The roundtable featured conversations about affordability and how the future leaders in Lansing can help small businesses thrive.

To end the day, Jocelyn joined a canvass launch in Rochester Hills for Alex Hawkins, a candidate for Michigan’s 55th House District.
