Jocelyn Benson Continues Record-Breaking Fundraising One Month Into General Election

Team Benson raised nearly $1.8 million in five weeks, bringing total haul to $12.5 million

After winning every county in Michigan and more than 80% of the vote in the August primary, Jocelyn Benson is carrying that momentum into the general election with nearly $1.8 million raised in only five weeks.

The campaign has now raised more than $12.5 million since launch and enters the final stretch with more than $5.9 million cash on hand.

These latest numbers are just a snapshot of the breadth of the campaign’s coalition: Over 92,000 individual contributions from all 83 counties in Michigan, 93% of contributions $100 or less, and no corporate PAC money. This campaign is powered by real Michiganders who want their next governor focused on lowering costs, not selling out to the highest bidder.

“Once again, people are rallying behind Jocelyn with record-breaking enthusiasm," said Benson campaign manager Nikki Goldschein. “We have built a statewide coalition that reaches every corner of Michigan that believes in Jocelyn’s vision to lower costs and raise wages. John James is looking to Donald Trump and corporate donors to fuel his campaign. We’re building ours with the people.”

The fundraising announcement comes as Jocelyn hits the airwaves with an ad highlighting her middle-class upbringing and her plan to tackle the kitchen-table issues families face.
