STATEMENT: Jocelyn Benson Stands United with Michigan’s Democratic Ticket

Ahead of Michigan’s election on Tuesday, Secretary of State and Democratic candidate for governor Jocelyn Benson released the following statement:

“I am proud to be leading a ticket full of Democrats committed to lowering costs, raising wages, and ending corruption. We are unified in our plan to make life better for the people of Michigan and fight for democracy.

“And that is in sharp contrast to Republican candidates who support failed economic policies that are driving up costs and driving away jobs. John James voted six times against ending the war in Iran, a war that has pushed gas to nearly $5 a gallon in Michigan. Tariffs that he and Mike Rogers support are costing families $6,400 each year and hurting small businesses in our state.

“I’m calling on all Democrats to unite and vote for our slate – Team Democracy – before the polls close on November 3. Together, Winnie Brinks, Abdul El-Sayed, Garlin Gilchrist, Eli Savit, and I will deliver for the people of Michigan.”
