Benson Celebrates Fourth of July Alongside Michiganders Across Detroit

Today, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson celebrated the Fourth of July alongside Michiganders at parades across South East Michigan.

The tour is taking Benson across Michigan, from the Detroit metro area to Cheboygan, to hear how rising costs are impacting people’s lives, and to share her affordability agenda that will put more money in Michiganders’ pockets. At every stop, she’s drawing a clear contrast: the choice between a governor who fights to lower costs, or Republicans who have put politics over Michigan families.

“As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, we are reminded that the power of the people is always, always greater than the people in power,” said Secretary Benson. “As governor, I will always fight to protect every Michigan citizens’ rights and freedoms.”

Benson started the day marching in the Northville parade alongside Michiganders.

While in Northville, Benson joined local leaders and Michiganders at Mayor Turnbull’s Fourth of July party.
