PRESS RELEASE

Benson Spends Juneteenth Meeting with Voters, Sharing Vision of Economic Empowerment for All Michiganders

Today on Juneteenth, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson connected with Michiganders at Juneteenth celebrations in Highland Park, Detroit, and Oak Park, sharing her plans to lower costs, raise wages, and protect the rights and freedoms of all Michiganders.

“Juneteenth is a celebration of the promise of freedom finally reaching everyone. Securing the promise of this democracy is not easy work and too often leaders make big promises during campaigns and fail to deliver,” said Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson. “As governor, my commitment is simple: every community will have a seat at the table, every family will have a fair shot to build wealth and achieve economic security, and every child will have the opportunity to succeed.”
