Benson Wins Debate, Exposes John James’ Record of Putting Himself Ahead of Michigan Families

For the second time, Jocelyn Benson took the debate stage tonight and shared her plans to lower costs, raise wages, and end corruption. Meanwhile, John James offered a whole lot of excuses for a record that has made life more expensive for Michigan families.

Following the debate, Jocelyn Benson for Governor Campaign Manager Nikki Goldschein released the following statement:

“Tonight, Jocelyn showed us exactly why she is the best choice for Governor. She has real plans to lower costs, raise wages and protect the freedoms Michiganders care about. She knows who she works for, and she’s ready to take on anyone to get results for Michigan families.

“John James showed up with the same old playbook: lie about his record, dodge responsibility, and hope voters don’t notice that his votes in Washington have helped make life more expensive. He wants to distance himself from Donald Trump’s reckless agenda now that it’s hurting Michigan families, but he can’t erase his own record.
