PRESS RELEASE

Jocelyn Benson Tours Michigan’s Adventure, Shares Her Plans to Grow Tourism Economy

Today, Secretary of State and Democratic Nominee for Governor Jocelyn Benson toured Michigan’s Adventure, an amusement park in Muskegon. During the visit, she highlighted how, as governor, she’ll grow Michigan’s tourism economy – from amusement parks to the Great Lakes – to boost local economies and create more well-paying jobs across the state.

Jocelyn is the only candidate in the race with a comprehensive plan to lower costs and grow our economy – including leveraging our unparalleled natural sites and local attractions and drawing in tourists. At a time when other states have already started diversifying their economies, investing in their tourism economies, and seeing economic returns, Jocelyn will make sure Michigan doesn’t just remain an economic competitor — but becomes the economic engine of the Midwest.

“I've been talking with Rep. Snyder, who is also the co-chair of the hospitality caucus in the legislature, about how we can grow our tourism economy here in Michigan, and I think Muskegon, especially with an underutilized gem like Michigan’s Adventure, is a tremendous opportunity for us to do that,” said Jocelyn Benson. “I'm really excited to see how this park grows over the next five to ten years. It can easily be a national and global destination for park enthusiasts all around the world and I want to do everything I can as governor to make it that.”
