PRESS RELEASE

NEW AD: “Remember” Makes the Case Government Should Work for the People, Not Corporations

Today, Jocelyn Benson’s campaign for Governor launched a new television ad, “Remember.”

This ad draws a straight line from Jocelyn’s own middle-class background – waiting tables to get by – to the governor she’ll be: one who works as hard for Michiganders as they work for themselves, and who takes on corporate interests and the powerful to lower costs for families across the state.

“Jocelyn hasn’t forgotten what it’s like to count tips at the end of a shift and wonder if it’s enough, and she knows government is showing up everywhere we don’t want it and nowhere we actually do.” said Benson Campaign Press Secretary Rajan Srinivasan. “This ad is a reminder of where she comes from and serves as a promise about how she’ll govern: for the people paying the bills, not the corporations padding their portfolios.”

Watch “Remember

Transcript:

I still remember waiting tables and counting tips at the end of my shift.

I believe government should work as hard as you do. Not for the politicians, corporations driving up costs — but for you.

That’s why I’ll ban politicians from insider trading, and make them disclose their special interest money.

Cut taxes for working and middle class families. Not big corporations.

And take on health insurance and drug companies to lower costs.

Because Michigan should work for you.
