PRESS RELEASE

FIRST TV AD: Benson Campaign Up On Airwaves with New Ad “That’s Me”

Today, Jocelyn Benson’s campaign for Governor launched its first television ad of the general election, “That’s Me,” as part of a $10 million broadcast, cable, and streaming reservation.

This first ad introduces Michigan voters to Jocelyn Benson, a daughter of public school teachers who waited tables to get through college, spent her career fighting for civil rights, and a mom who knows how to fight for Michiganders and deliver results. It highlights the experiences that shaped her commitment to making government work better for people and her vision for Michigan’s future.

With a record-breaking $10.8 million raised since launching her campaign and a commanding lead in the general election race, Benson will continue communicating with voters across Michigan through November.

“From growing up as the daughter of public school teachers to fighting for civil rights and making government work better for people, Jocelyn knows what it takes to deliver results,” said Benson Campaign Press Secretary Rajan Srinivasan. “This ad introduces voters to the Jocelyn Benson they can count on as governor. Someone who knows what Michigan families are up against, who listens, who delivers, and who will always put Michiganders first.”

Transcript:

Jocelyn Benson's parents were public school teachers, just like me.

After school, Jocelyn waited tables, counted tips, just like me.

Like me, Jocelyn fought for civil rights and voting rights.

Jocelyn married a combat veteran. That's me.

She knows how hard it is for families like mine.

I'm Jocelyn Benson, and I believe government should work as hard as you do. It's why, as Secretary of State, I fixed a broken system, and as Governor, I'll make Michigan work for you.
