STATEMENT: Jocelyn Benson Applauds UAW Local 2093 Tentative Agreement
After UAW Local 2093 announced a tentative agreement to end the strike at the American Axle facility in Three Rivers, gubernatorial candidate and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson released the following statement:
“Tonight the UAW proved once again that the power of the people is always greater than the people in power. Congratulations on reaching this historic tentative agreement.
“To the members of UAW Local 2093 who fought for this win: I am proud to stand with you. Years ago you made sacrifices to help keep American Axle afloat, and now you will receive the pay, benefits, and protections you deserve. Your victory is a reminder that we can stand up against corporate greed and demand more for our families. I will always stand in solidarity with working people in Michigan who are fighting to build the future we all deserve.”
