PRESS RELEASE

Jocelyn Benson Lays Out Vision for Protecting Workers, Raising Wages at UAW Forum

Following today’s United Auto Workers gubernatorial forum, the Benson for Governor campaign released the below statement:

“Jocelyn Benson is the only candidate in this race who will stand strong against attacks on Michigan workers and will work for Michiganders,” said Benson for Governor Campaign Manager Nikki Goldschein. “While other candidates in this race built their careers union busting, advocating for right-to-work legislation, and taking money from corporate PACs intent on rolling back workers’ rights and putting profits before people, Jocelyn has fought for workers at every turn and taken on anyone who has gotten in the way. Today’s forum made it clear Jocelyn will always have the backs of Michigan workers whether it’s on the factory floor, the picket line, or at the bargaining table.”

Jocelyn has already earned the most widespread labor support with LiUNA’s statewide council, a majority of Teamsters locals, UFCW 951 and 876, and Michigan Nurses Association all representing thousands of workers across the state.

They join a broad coalition of national, state, and local leaders that recognize Jocelyn’s deep commitment to always fighting for workers. You can find a full list of endorsements here.
