Jocelyn Benson Shares Affordability Agenda with Detroit Seniors

Today, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson met with seniors at Riverbend Towers in Detroit and shared her plans to make life more affordable in Michigan.

“Detroit has always been at the heart of Michigan’s strength, and when this city thrives, our whole state moves forward,” said Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson. “But too many seniors and families here are being squeezed by rising costs, especially those living on fixed incomes. Our focus must be on building real economic security—creating the prosperity that was the unfinished work of the Civil Rights movement. That’s what my affordability agenda is all about: using government to lower costs and help people get ahead—so they can stay in the communities they’ve called home for decades, and see their grandchildren grow up safe, happy, and nearby.”
