Michigan Nurses Association Endorses Jocelyn Benson for Governor
Michigan Advance: "Michigan Nurses Association endorses Benson for governor, call her the top pro-worker candidate"
Today, the Michigan Nurses Association, the largest union and professional association for registered nurses and healthcare professionals in the state, endorsed Jocelyn Benson for Governor.
“Jocelyn Benson has proven she won’t fold under pressure. When powerful interests push, she pushes back,” said Aaron McCormick, RN, MNA president. “As Secretary of State, she’s expanded access to the ballot for Michiganders across this state. And she’s shown a real willingness to listen to nurses and healthcare professionals about the challenges we’re facing. That kind of leadership matters.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to have the endorsement of the Michigan Nurses Association in my campaign to be Michigan’s next governor,” said Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson. “This campaign is about making sure the people who power our state’s economy and spend their careers serving others - like Michigan nurses - can afford to live here and thrive. These men and women heal and care for all of us when we need it most. We have a moral duty to serve them just as they show up for us and as governor, I will always have their backs.”
The Michigan Nurses Association is the latest to join a growing coalition of state and local leaders, nonprofits, and advocacy organizations supporting Benson to be our next governor. They join the board coalition of mayors, city leaders, educators, and labor organizations in recognizing Benson’s track record of delivering for Michiganders and standing up to anyone who threatens our safety, rights, and freedom and leadership make her the best candidate for governor. She also has the support of state and national organizations including the Michigan Association of Justice, Michigan Democratic Party’s Black Caucus, EMILYs List, and End Citizen United, among others.
