Jocelyn Joins Barbershop Roundtable in Saginaw, Shares Plan to Invest in Communities Across the State and Lower Costs  

Today, Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson joined State Representative Amos O’Neal, Saginaw Mayor Brenda Moore, and local Michiganders for a discussion about affordability, economic prosperity for the Black community, and education at Courtside Cuts, a black-owned barbershop in Saginaw. Jocelyn spoke with fathers and community advocates about what keeps them up at night and how the next governor can best invest in their communities.

Jocelyn is the only candidate with a comprehensive plan to lower the cost of housing, healthcare, and energy bills, raise wages, and invest in every community across the state in an equitable and transparent way to grow opportunity.

“I envision an economic strategy that's about investing in communities that have been under resourced for far too long, and investing in the people of those communities – whether it's workforce development or starting your own small business – so that you can grow your economy from the ground up, with the support of the state at every corner. I want to come back here as governor at the end of my term, and for us all to be sitting here again talking about all the new jobs we've created here,” said Jocelyn Benson. “Saginaw should be leading our economy – you've got so many resources to already do that. I know we've got a lot of folks focusing on other places in the state, I want to focus on Saginaw.”
